Lego Batman

Overview
The game will star Batman fighting crime in Gotham City. An early build for the PS2 console was shown at certain conferences (such as at Game On in London) by designer Jonathan Smith, with a small playable area sporting the exact same HUD as Lego Star Wars II. Characters on screen each have individual animations and both Batman and Robin have their animated TV show dressing style. There will be 36 levels in the game (18 heroes and 18 villains). After you play through the level from the heroes' perspective you will unlock the level from the villains' perspective. A similar grappling system to the one used in Lego Star Wars II will be used. The style of the game will focus more on Batman: The Animated Series and the comics rather than the new movies.

Batman, Robin, the Joker, the Penguin, and Harley Quinn will be some of the playable characters. It is rumored that Bane will also be playable due to the fact that he is already a part of the Lego Batman franchise. Man-Bat and Nighthawk are also expected to make it into the game as playable characters. Two levels involving Batman and Robin chasing Catwoman with a diamond, and a level where Joker and Harley Quinn are in a theme park level, ending with a boss battle against Commissioner James Gordon, have already been tested. Also, in the trailer, there is footage of a player swapping characters, and a version of Robin with scuba gear and another with magno-shoes on is shown as a playable character. New moves will be added like the upcoming Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures such as swimming under water to collect studs seen in a gameplay trailer. So far, two short gameplay trailers have been released, one featuring Catwoman and the Riddler. The other one features the Scarecrow and the newly introduced Two-Face. Developer Jonathan Smith stated that the company will be developing more Lego games in the foreseeable future.

Story
While much of the story has not been revealed yet, the most recent trailer shows a massive breakout of Arkham Asylum. Villains such as the Joker, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, and many more have escaped and are wrecking havoc on the streets of Gotham City. Game-play videos of the Joker and Harley levels also show them abducting Commissioner Gordon after his failed attempt to arrest the sadistic duo. The story will be told through the heros and villains perspectives eventually completing the whole story from both point of views.
